Product groups
Overview
A product group gathers items through a rule, not a list. Whoever meets the rule belongs — including an item created tomorrow. Whoever no longer meets it (say, because it was deactivated) drops out without anyone touching the group.
The rule is the same condition tree as in automations: the same operators, the same and/or logic. There is no second way to phrase conditions.
Core tasks
Create a group. Under Products → Product groups choose New product group, give it a name and put the rule together — for example "Type is equal to product" AND "Price (cents) greater/equal 10000" AND "Active is equal to true".
View the members. Show items opens the usual item list filtered to the group. Search, sorting and bulk actions work as always; Product group ✓ — clear removes the filter again. When editing, the dialog states how many items currently meet the rule.
As the rule of a category. A category can carry a product group as its rule (Products → Categories, field Rule). Then the category holds every article assigned to it by hand OR meeting the rule — the article assignments stay as they are. The fields lead category and categories inside a rule only look at the manual assignment.
Group by category. "Lead category" only checks the main category. "Categories (lead and additional)" with contains finds items that carry the category as lead or additional category.
Fields in detail
| Field | Required | Values / format | What it does |
|---|---|---|---|
Name name | yes | text, max. 150 characters | The group appears under this name in the list and in the filter. |
Description description | no | text, max. 2000 characters | What the group is meant for. Orientation only, affects nothing. |
Rule conditions | no | conditions of field, operator and value, joined by "all" or "any" | Decides which items belong. Amounts in cents (€100 = 10000). An unknown field or an unsuitable operator is rejected on saving instead of letting the group silently run empty. Without a condition all items belong. |
You can query name, item number, EAN, manufacturer number, type, status, kind, billing mode, unit, country of origin, lead category, categories, manufacturer, the flags active, billable, stock-managed and own product, price, purchase price, RRP and weight as well as stock: stock on hand, available (on hand minus reserved) and in stock (not stock-limited or available above 0). The figures come from the warehouse; sales sets and configurable articles derive their stock from their components. The members appear in the article list with the same brand scope as always.

FAQ & troubleshooting
A new item does not appear in the group. It does not meet the rule. Often it is the price: amounts are in cents, €100 is 10000.
The group is empty although the category is right. "Lead category" only checks the main category. For additional categories use "Categories (lead and additional)" with contains.
Is a group removed from the items when it is deleted? There is nothing to remove: the group is a rule. The items themselves remain unchanged.
