Notifications

Overview
This page decides, per event, which channels you are informed through. The setting is personal — it applies to your account, not to everyone.
The channels are In-app, Email and Slack; installed modules can contribute more.
In-app cannot be switched off. That is deliberate: there is always one place a notification arrives, even with email and Slack turned off. Otherwise you could make yourself unreachable without even noticing.
Core tasks
Choose channels per event. The table lists the events down the left and the channels across the columns. Tick where you want to be reached.
Turn on the digest. Instead of delivering immediately, the digest bundles events and sends them once a day by email. That is the lever against the flood: what you want to know but not right now belongs in the digest rather than switched off.
Fields in detail
This page decides what you are notified about and how — not whether something happens.
| Field | Required | Values / format | What it does |
|---|---|---|---|
Event type | yes | an occasion from the catalogue, max. 100 characters | What triggers a notification — task assigned, ticket replied to, deadline missed, approval pending. |
Channel channel | yes | in-system, email, push | Where the message arrives. One setting per occasion and channel; several channels at once are allowed. |
On / off enabled | no | yes/no | Whether this occasion notifies on this channel. |
Digest digest | no | yes/no | Set to yes the messages for this occasion arrive bundled instead of one by one. The difference between one mail a day and forty — and the reason someone switches notifications off entirely when it does not exist. |
The setting is yours, not the house's: everyone decides for themselves what reaches them.
Two things cannot be switched off, and that is deliberate: security-relevant notices (a new sign-in, a changed password) and deadlines you are answerable for. Everything else you may mute — with the consequence that you then see it only in My work.
Settings & permissions
- Permission
platform.notification.view. Without it the page is unreachable. - The setting is personal and applies across all your devices.
- Additional channels come from modules. Slack, for example, appears only if the corresponding
module is active and configured.
- Your permissions bound the events. You are only notified about things you are allowed to see.
FAQ & troubleshooting
I get no emails although the box is ticked. Check the spam folder first, then whether the digest is on — in which case the message comes bundled rather than immediately. If it persists, the system's mail dispatch is the cause, see System mail accounts.
I cannot switch off in-app. Correct, that is intended.
Slack does not appear as a column. Then the module is not active or not configured.
A colleague gets notifications I do not. The setting is personal — and permissions additionally bound what can be notified about at all.
