Sales targets

Overview
A sales target puts a target value next to what actually happened. Targets apply per person or team and per period — both belong together: a target without a period is a wish, a target without an owner is a number without an addressee.
The actual value comes from the deals won in the period. It is not maintained separately — otherwise there would be two truths about the same revenue.
Core tasks
Set a target. You choose owner, period and target value.
Track attainment. The list shows target, actual and attainment. The ratio says more than the difference because it makes targets of different sizes comparable.
Look at teams. A team target aggregates ownership; the breakdown shows who contributed what.
Fields in detail
| Field | Required | Values / format | What it does |
|---|---|---|---|
Name name | yes | text, max. 255 characters | What the goal is called. |
Metric metric | yes | revenue won, deals won, deals added, deals progressed, activities logged | What is measured. The choice is the actual steering: a goal on activities rewards busyness, one on revenue won rewards closing — each produces different behaviour. |
Target targetAmount | yes | 0 or more | What is to be achieved. |
Period from / to periodStart, periodEnd | yes | point in time | The measurement period. |
Recurrence recurrence | no | none, monthly, quarterly | Whether the goal continues automatically. That turns one goal into a standing target without recreating it every month. |
Owner ownerId | no | an employee | Whose goal it is. |
Team teamId | no | an existing team | Alternatively a team goal. Personal and team do not exclude each other — both side by side is usual. If your role is limited to "own team only", you see and maintain only goals of your teams and the people in them; company-wide goals without team and owner stay visible, but only a cross-team manager may create or change them. |
Pipeline pipelineId | no | an existing pipeline | Which pipeline the goal refers to. |
Brand brandId | no | one of your brands | Which brand is measured. |
Active active | no | yes/no | Whether the goal is tracked. |
Progress is calculated from the deals, not maintained by hand — what counts is the actual state, not the report about it.
Settings & permissions
Targets use the permissions of the sales area: whoever may see the underlying deals also sees the target. Module flag: module.sales-goals.
FAQ & troubleshooting
The actual value stays at zero. Check whether deals in the period are marked as won — open ones do not count.
A target goes nowhere. Check ownership: a person who owns no deals accumulates no actual value.
