People

Purpose
The people module answers three questions every plan needs: who is here, who can do what, and who is available when?
The third is why it belongs to the core of work planning rather than in an administrative corner: without approved absences and public holidays, every capacity calculation is a wish. Only the net availability makes project planning dependable.
Scope
- Employee records with master data, employment, projects, skills, documents, absence balance and
checklists; cost rates and documents separately permission-protected.
- Absences — request, approval, cancellation with recalculation of balance and calendar, proof
with a deadline, counted in working days.
- Absence types with effect markers: leave account, approval requirement, proof, paid, capacity
effect, half days.
- Team availability as net capacity — target minus public holidays minus approved absence — plus
leave balances.
- On- and offboarding as checklists from templates, with progress, due dates and documented
skipping.
- A skill taxonomy and skill matrix with levels 1 to 5 and a primary marker, maintainable in the
matrix with a click.
- A payroll export as a per-period aggregate — hours, absence days and master data as CSV.
- Employee calendars with two-way synchronisation of approved absences.
Interplay
The employee profile is a precondition for time tracking and is linked to an account through Users. Logged hours and absence days feed the payroll export. Availability is the basis for planning in projects. Calendar connections use the integrations.
Limits
- No payroll calculation. The module supplies the aggregate; payslips, tax and social security
stay with the payroll office. That is a deliberate boundary, not a gap.
- No attendance tracking. Arrival and departure are out of scope; work performed is captured by
- Only approved absence affects capacity — and only where the type provides for it. Paid and
reduces capacity are independent of each other.
- The operational skill search lives in resource planning. Levels are maintained here; people are
searched for there.
- The DATEV payroll format is to be agreed with the payroll office — format deviations only
surface on import.
